This workshop provides water professionals with tools for developing and implementing a surface water quality monitoring program. It covers surface water quality monitoring for the characterization of watersheds, evaluation of water quality improvements, and evaluation of BMP effectiveness from implementation activities. Presentations and demonstrations used in this training help participants understand what monitoring is needed for watershed protection planning, inventorying existing resources, selecting monitoring design, stormwater sampling, and what to consider in building a successful monitoring plan. In addition, this course includes hands-on experience in creating a monitoring plan, quality assurance requirements, and equipment demonstrations.
